1. a Knight.
Many of you are new to this, so hello to you, Internet. We’re only about thirty Fastest Possible Things into “everything” so far, and we have a lot of work to do; hopefully you can help us in that regard—more on that soon.
For now, the Fastest Possible Knight. Recalling our medieval theme of two weeks back, in which we gazed upon the Fastest (or Weirdest) Possible Castle, we further develop our Game of Thrones obsession today with a gallant Protector for our Fastest Possible Realm.
Armor is no easy thing to draw when you’re on the clock. In fact, people are no walk in the park (unless they are ornamental, in which case stick figures are well-suited to the job). More so even than usual, in Fastest Possible Drawings, the devil is in the details.
Who here built stuff with Lego as a kid? Gizmodo linked here yesterday, so I’d assume that’s, like, all of you. In a sense, Fastest Possible is like building something out of Lego; there are certain tools you have at your disposal (big blocky rectangles) and others you do not (gold filigreed breastplates). Time and Information are of the essence in both Lego and Fastest Possible. You make do with what you have so that your brother is more ashamed of his Space Robot than you are of yours.

[yep.]

[nope.]
As such, this knight’s armor is an impervious shell made up of ten interlocking misshappen rectangles, which was the hardest part of this drawing (a drawing, we should state, that took David 26.2 seconds to complete). The sword tells its own story—rectangle, rectangle, long equilateral triangle. But the helmet, oh! The helmet is probably the finest moment. Who would argue that the bulbous noggin protected by that iron helm is not worthy of the title its owner bears? Look upon the visor with its four delicately-carved slits. A helmet like that makes an opponent very uncomfortable.
Yes, look upon this Fastest Possible Knight, ye Internet, and despair! Let us hope that he looks kindly back upon your requests and suggestions (yes, even you, “Anonymous”, and your “Michael Jackson Impersonator”). In the meantime, a Fastest Possible God Speed to you, and enjoy your weeks’ ends.

    a Knight.
